The damascus steel blade is known to be hard but not brittle. The blade consists of 67 sheets of steel with 66 sheets of hard steel which are welded on either side of a central sheet of mild steel carrying the edge of the blade.

The steel of the central sheet an alloy of cobalt, vanadium and chromium providing hardness and malleability to the blade.

By combining the edge of the damascus wrought-iron blade, renowned for its formidable edge, and a high-quality rosewood handle, you are investing in a very high-quality, high-class knife.

It is this type of blade that the great Japanese chefs use in their knives.
